Great Books to get this Holiday Season

The Holidays are here and while I could give you a list on many items for your classroom in tech, I have decided to go with an enrichment of knowledge. Here are a set of books that are musts for your classroom.

  1. Screen Shot 2015-12-12 at 8.51.16 PMExplore Like a Pirate

Fresh on the stands by Michael Matera, Explore Like a Pirate serves as your experienced guide to help you apply the most motivational techniques of gameplay to your classroom using strategies that work with and enhance (rather than replace) your current curriculum. As many know, I am a big proponent of gamification and this book is perfect for that. I highly recommend the latest in the Teach like a Pirate book series.

A very amazing book by George Couros, this book encourages teachers and administrators to empower their learners to wonder, to explore and to become forward-thinking leaders. There is something for everyone in this book that will both inspire and motivate both you and your students.

We all have days of stress, feeling there is more to do than time allows, but that’s where this book comes in. Dan Tricarico provides practical, easy-to-use techniques to help teachers slow down and create a sense of focus, simplicity, and tranquility in the classroom and with yourself. I have turned to this book a lot in the last month to not only motivate me but also remember to breathe and know it will all be all right.

These are my picks for your classroom this Holiday season. Enjoy.
