Tile Smash is here

Tile Smashing is part of my Appification learning. Where you combine gamification with learning with mobile Apps. Tile Smash is similar to playing Scrabble with App Smashing involved. You have students play a game of scrabble and have them form words based on the subjects they are learning. When they spell out a word the must create a lesson or project based around the word or words they have spelled. An example would be: “double.” Part of a science lesson on cells, students would use the following: (D)Dictionary! to look up terms, (O) Over to make infopics on parts of cells, (U) UpDown Videos to create a split screen video on cells, (B)Brain Pop to learn more important facts on cell division, (L)Layout to pull all images together in a great photo college and then finally (E)Explain Everything to create a screencast on the lesson on cells and cell division. This type of learning reaches students on a deeper level and allows more reflection, student lead classrooms and is all around fun. Give it a try today.
